چکیده
bance measurements were linear with respect to sample concentration. We tested assays for the determination of glucose, calcium, creatinine, albumin, total protein, and cholesterol. Each assay (Raichem) produces an increase in absorbance proportional to the sample concentration. For each assay, a set of 5–11 samples was prepared with a range of concentrations spanning the reference interval. Each assay was run in triplicate, with endpoint absorbances measured to correlate to specific concentrations except with the creatinine assay, for which the rate of change in absorbance is correlated to sample concentration. Fig. 1 presents the data from these tests. All plots show excellent linearity with respect to concentration, with R of 0.981–0.997.

Study on the growth and survival of Escherichia coli O157:H7 during the manufacture and storage of Iranian white cheese in brine
The behaviour of Escherichia coli O157:H7 was studied during the manufacture and storage of Iranian white cheese in brine. Cheese was manufactured using pasteurized cow milk and inoculated with E. coli O157:H7 with inoculum level of 103 cfu/ml. Four treatments were designed. Cheeses were made with or without starter culture and kept immersed in 6 or 8% salt brine during ripening and storage. Ch...
متن کاملSurvival of Escherichia coli O157:H7 and Listeria monocytogenes in Doogh, A Traditional Iranian Dairy Beverage
Background: Unlike industrially production, Iranian traditional doogh are not pasteurized after production. Hence, possible contamination with different pathogenic bacteria may occur during production or post-production of traditional doogh. The aim of the present study was to monitor the behavior of Escherichia coli O157:H7 and Listeria monocytogenes in traditional Iranian doogh at different t...
متن کاملEffect of Monolaurin Alone and in Combination with EDTA on Viability of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus in Culture Media and Iranian White Cheese
Background: Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus as important food-borne pathogens are the main concerns of food producers and consumers which create a lot of problems worldwide. The objective of this study was to investigate the inhibitory effect of monolaurin alone and in combination with EDTA on viability of E. coli and S. aureus in culture media and Iranian white cheese. Methods: Th...

Introduction: Omp31 is animmunodominant and protective antigen conserved in Brucella species and a good candidate for vaccine design. Material & methods: The present study aimed at in silico design of the truncated Omp31 (TOmp31) using bioinformatic tools and to express the selected form in Escherichia coli (E. coli) Results and conclusion: Various bioinformatically calculated scores for the ...
متن کاملModified Vero cell induced by Bifidobacterium bifidum inhibits enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli O157:H7 cytopathic effect
Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC), such as E. coli O157:H7, are emerging food-borne pathogens worldwide. This micro-organism can damage the epithelial tissue of the large intestine. The cytotoxic effects can be neutralized by probiotics such as Bifidobacterium bifidum. Probiotics are viable cells that have beneficial effects on the health of the host. The preventing activity of B. bifid...
